Dr Ann Tan is the first Singaporean to hold the Diploma of Fetal Medicine from the Fetal Medicine Foundation, an international body that accredits Fetal Maternal Medicine specialists. The former Chief of Fetal Maternal Medicine in the Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology at the Singapore General Hospital is a dedicated gynaecologist and obstetrician, with a keen interest in prenatal diagnosis and care of both mother and fetus. A devoted mother of three and dance enthusiast, she believes in public education, contributing regularly to lifestyle and motherhood periodicals and presenting papers at medical forums and congresses.
Dr Ann Tan’s greatest pleasure is to “help my patients achieve their dream of having healthy babies”.
The ability to screen for anomalies will also improve and will get more complex; more understanding by both public and medical personnel are needed to comprehend what is desirable knowledge.
